THE ART OF HEALING IN THE ANDEAN CIVILIZATION
A rare opportunity to study with Dr. Ruben Orellan.a
According to archaeological evidence in our Andes history, man has lived in these lands for more than 20,000 years and he learned about harmony, health and well-being in nature.
The man’s interaction with nature provokes three basic types of necessity:
(1) the necessity to regulate the temperature
(2) the necessity to have water and food
(3) the communication with nature
The healer (shaman) communicates the messages of nature and is also the mediator between the “seen world” and the “unseen world”. He uses his theoretical and practical knowledge to assist his community through diagnosis, prevention and suppression of physical, mental or social dysfunctions. The skills of the shaman are vital to the well being of humanity.
